DBIM celebrates Library Day

The Don Bosco Institute of Management (DBIM) on October 19 celebrated the Annual ‘Julhash Ali Library Day’ to thank and appreciate those who contributed to making reading a part and parcel of the students’ life. Former Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University Dr. G. N. Talukdar was the Chief Guest at the evening programme to celebrate Library Day.
The Chief Guest in his message spoke of the library as the most important place in the school, college, university and educational institution. “Library help in knowing. Through the library we come to know how to get knowledge,” Dr. G. N. Talukdar said. He also spoke of the four pillars of learning; ‘Learning to Know,’ ‘Learning to Do,’ ‘Learning to Be’ and ‘Learning to Live.’
He spoke highly of Don Bosco Institute of Management and said that “DBIM plays important role in imparting knowledge to the students.” He encouraged the students to make use of the opportunity received from the institute. He added that it depended on the students to make use of the opportunity provided by the institute. “Library and Library Science is a subject that can be chosen for qualifications as this study can help develop the taste of reading. “With e-library many students can log into books even when they are in their rooms. This concept has completely transformed and revolutionize reading habits,” he added.
Fr. Johnson Parackal, Executive Director DBIM extended words of welcome and asked students to make use of the beautiful library that exist in the institute. Various competitions were organised on this day to celebrate the Library Day.
