DON BOSCO INSTITUTE, a centre for human development, leadership and research is a project of the Salesians of Don Bosco, designed and executed by Don Bosco Youth Mission & Educational Services, Guwahati.

Established with a mission to nurture dreams and shape lives, to awaken latent potential and stoke the passion for excellence, Don Bosco Institute opens new horizons of opportunity for the young people of the North East.

The futuristic concept and design, the state-of-the-art facilities, access for the less privileged, and the dedicated faculty synergise to make DBI a symbol of commitment and quality.

Set on the misty green hills that overlook the majestic Brahmaputra, centrally located, yet away from the bustle of the city, the Institute creates for you the right ambience for the adventure of learning, for quiet relaxation and creative self discovery.

Director's Message

Brighter Days Ahead

It goes without saying that the past 15 months have been difficult and challenging for everyone. The second wave of the pandemic took us by surprise and shook the nation. We would like to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude and admiration for all the healthcare workers, friends, family, colleagues, organizations, and everyone who came together to fight through this pandemic and help each other to the best of their abilities.

The declining number of active cases and improvement in recovery rate brings a ray of hope for all. However, we urge everyone to continue taking all precautions, remain vigilant, and get yourself and your family members vaccinated. We are diligently monitoring the situation and taking all measures to ensure that the Institute is safe, to begin again. We assure you that we will come back with gusto and reach out to as many as possible through our various courses and programs.

Both, me and the Associate Director were victims of the coronavirus and we know what people have gone through during this pandemic. This period has taught us the power and strength of people coming together to drive a positive change, and that will never be forgotten.

Amongst a plethora of messages, I received during this Covid days, one which attracted my attention and introspection was about the sunflowers.

Sunflowers turn according to the position of the sun. In other words, they “chase the light.” But have you ever wondered what happens to them on cloudy and rainy days when the sun is completely covered by clouds?

Perhaps, like me, you thought, the sunflower withers or turns its head towards the ground. No. Not true! What really happens is, they turn towards each other to share their energy.

This is amazing! Nature’s perfection is at its best.

Sunflowers have so much to teach us. Many people couldn’t handle the corona-inflicted lockdown days, many became low-spirited, depressed and even gave up. But, we at DBI like many others, started ‘supporting and empowering’ each other.

I wish everyone have a “Sunflower” trait of turning towards each other on their cloudy and gloomy days. Let us spread goodness and positive energy!

Stay Safe … Stay Strong … For Each Other …
